About Grandmaster Bang - continue

While serving in the Korean Armed Forces he was a member of the military selection of the “Korean Marine Corps” in Taekwondo from 1974 – 1976. In 1975 he won the “Korean President’s Cup” in Taekwondo and in 1978 he became Korean champion in Hapkido.

Since 1981 Grandmaster Bang lives in Gran Canaria (Canary Islands) where he teaches Hapkido and Taekwondo in his school. The annual Hapkido and Taekwondo demonstration of his school is broadcast by Canary and Spanish television. Grandmaster Bang donates the revenues of this event to “San Juan de Dios”, an institution attending to mentally and physically handicapped children.

In 2005 he established the “Spanish Hapkido Association Han Kuk” of which he is the president.
